Job description

Main purpose of the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Manager to join our MCI Developments business, based from Wigan.

Reporting to the Technical Director; the successful candidate will be responsible for the general day to day management of the technical function to ensure it fully supports the needs, aspirations, and targets in line with the 5-year plan set out by the business.

The main purpose of the Architectural Manager is to coordinate all design and utility information between external and internal stakeholders, ensuring that all approvals and utility quotes are obtained in a timely manner, and that high quality and correct information is issued to other departments.

The successful candidate will also set, monitor, and deliver targets, production of accurate and timely reports for the business and staff development. They will challenge others to drive performance improvement without damaging confidence levels or performance output.

They will lead a small team, keeping them motivated and engaged, developing team members by enabling and motivating them to be the best that they can to support the growth of the business.

Skills, knowledge & experience

We are looking for an established Architectural Manager who embodies our Keepmoat values; a straightforward professional attitude and approach to their work, organised and able to work under pressure. The postholder will take a creative approach to problem solving using their excellent communication and influencing skills. They will be passionate about housebuilding, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Technical new build environment. The postholder will be an established collaborative leader with the ability to build strong relationships through ability to work cross functionally to achieve successful outcomes and inspire, motivate, and develop team members.

Education & qualifications

We are looking for someone with an Engineering related qualification, degree or equivalent, which is accredited by Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) They will also have a high level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCAD, and general IT skills including an advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages.
