Job description

  • DBS delivers a broad range of Services in Defence, supported by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Enabling Pillar. Change Management is part of Change Delivery Services in CIO.
  • DBS has gone through and completed a transition phase of moving Human Resources platform to Oracle Cloud as well as currently working towards the Payroll application moving to Oracle Cloud June 2023. This is introducing new ways of working managing future changes, Oracle Patch updates releases, and optimising changes made available on the Oracle Cloud platform which this role will be heavily involved in.
  • Supporting changes being implemented in accordance with the DBS Change Management Processes.
  • Ensuring all change management processes are consistently and effectively applied across DBS. Working with all stakeholders requesting changes, Internal and External customers including Functional Lead for Civ HR and Policy Leads.

Main responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, validating, and registering Change Requests (CR’s), ensuring they are recorded in a timely manner and the sponsor is informed of CR number.
  • Co-ordinating Impact Assessments, monitoring against timescales, highlighting any risks / issues.
  • Ensuring the change tools and trackers are updated as each change progresses. Allowing for accurate Change delivery data for Senior Managers and Customers by accurately updating the current status of the progress of the CR, hastening all key stakeholders for further updates where appropriate.
  • A Change Team Rep Secretariat to update details and decisions.
  • Provide documentation and facilitate Requirement Clarification Meetings.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders internal and external, involved in the change management process.
  • Provide support and guidance on the change management process and associated templates.
  • Provide support across the team in arranging meetings, managing the multiuser mailbox, and providing scheduled and ad hoc reports.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the demand of change, whilst ensuring the process is adhered to.
  • Provide support and cover to the change team to ensure all areas of work can be adequately covered during periods of absence.
  • Provide support to the Change Management team in making improvement to the change management process and service the team provides
