Job Title: Care Assistant

Responsible for: Adult Services

Duration: 12 weeks minimum with opportunity to be extended

Hours per week: Rota can be anywhere between 7pm and 10pm

Location: Orkney Islands

Pay per hour: £15

Purpose of the role:
We are currently hiring for care assistants and support worker staff to aid adult service users within the Home Care Team. Staff would be required to work full time with a minimum of 50 hours work per week, between the hours of 7am and 10pm and would be expected to visit the service users within their own homes in the community. This role would consist of home visits so staff are required to drive and have their own car. Staff would be expected to demonstrate their relevant experience within the Home Care environment. You would be required to work alone within the role but not all the time and shifts could be a mixture of earlies, nights, sleep-ins and weekends. Adaptability is key to the role and ideally the client wants very committed staff due to the nature of this work with a certain degree of flexibility.
Due to the fact you would be working in the Orkney Islands for an extended period of time, non-local staff members are even being provided shared accommodation which would usually be a flat or house with their own private room but would have to share facilities with others. This would be free of charge and provided by the client.
Ideally, for this role you would have a relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or previous experience of working with older people or other vulnerable members of a community, which would be advantageous in understanding their needs and requirements.
