Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

At any one time, around 23,000 people in Norfolk and Suffolk are receiving care and attention from the Trust. Main duties of the job

We want to talk to enthusiastic and caring Clinical Nurse Specialists with experience of working within a mental health setting. We want people who are passionate about crisis work and ensuring safe and effective interventions are delivered to service users, their families and other professionals across Norfolk. We would welcome a passionate and skilful clinician who empowers others and be able to support a culture of change within crisis.

We are looking for compassionate colleagues with experience of working across CAMHS, LD & Autism, Adult and Later life and who have the enthusiasm to undertake additional training as part of our staff training programme for crisis. You may feel you want a change from working in an inpatient setting but want to remain on a 24/7 shift pattern.

No two days will be the same, but they will include elements of working in an MDT team, providing telephone triage assessments and supporting and guiding service users through crisis in our contact centre.

You will also have the opportunity to co-coordinating shifts, provide clinical oversight and support to practitioners, supporting with teaching and training opportunities, leading on staff development and being a visible role model that echoes the values of the trust and the vision of the service.

  • Providing clinical leadership

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
    • Able to demonstrate sound clinical expertise and knowledge of mental health disorders and their treatments
  • Registered NMP qualification or in process of completing this.

Experience

Essential criteria
    • Minimum 18 months experience in community mental health services as band 6 mental health nurse
    • Minimum 18 months experience in acute inpatient mental health services as band 6 mental health nurse
Desirable criteria
    • Experience in specialist areas within mental health (CAMHS, forensics, ADHD, perinatal, older adult etc).

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RMN or equivalent professional qualification
  • Non-Medical Independent Prescriber (qualified or course completed awaiting results)
  • Degree Level Qualification or equivalent or equivalent level
