The Children's Country House at Sudbury is the first heritage experience of its kind for the National Trust, where the Hall, Museum and Garden put children and families at the very centre of the experience. Joining us as Collections and House Manager at this exciting time will mean leading your team to provide high quality and efficient day to day care, documentation and management of Sudbury and its collection. Our collection is vast and varied as it includes the Museum of Childhood collection.
You'll have the skills and experience to collaborate with curators, conservators and our visitor experience team, an innovative problem solver and a key interest in curatorial development.

You'll manage a small team, report to the General Manager. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for the effective operation of the overall property, the delivery of the property business plan, contribution to long term strategies and lead projects for your work area. You'll also cover Duty Management, so weekend working is part of the role.
What you'll be doing:You'll be responsible for daily care and conservation, manage Collections Managements Systems and lead on data collection and storage. You'll take care of our historic items, collections and spaces by creating monitoring systems alongside our conservators, and implementing them with your team. You'll develop our collections and decide what is used for display and engagement in each room.
Alongside this you'll contribute to plans for access and engagement, working with other heads of department to focus on the visitor experience. You'll manage a team of staff and volunteers and work with the wider property team to support the volunteer journey.
