XEIAD are the largest provider of civil infrastructure inspections in the UK.

We pride ourselves on supporting the end to end management of a range of civil engineering assets, helping asset owners and managers keep critical infrastructure safe, reduce risk and maintenance costs as well as extend asset life.

Specialising in difficult access our teams have extensive experience inspecting structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels, and shafts across industry sectors such as Rail, Highways, Marine, Utilities and Defence.

We are currently engaged in the delivery of numerous projects throughout the UK for and on behalf of many asset owners, managers and a large diversity of engineering consultancies including Network Rail, National Highways, Balfour Beatty, Kier and Atkins to name just a few.

XEIAD are continuing to expand the range of complementary services within our engineering teams and are seeking an experienced and competent surveying engineer to take on a leadership role within the organisation. Primarily focused on the Marine, Utilities and Defence sectors, their role will also support other sectors including Rail and Highways.

Reporting to the Head of Marine, Utilities and Defence, the Concrete Testing Team Leader, will be responsible for the review, development and implantation of technical surveys with particular knowledge and experience in concrete testing techniques to industry and national UK standards. Required to take the lead role on a variety of specialist structural inspection and testing projects and subsequently be responsible for producing inspection and testing reports/drawings to a high standard. Responsible for ensuring the technical compliance of site works completed and for ensuring the safe systems of work compliance.

As a Concrete Testing Team Leader you will lead on all concrete testing and suitably related projects throughout the business, providing technical advice to operational teams and to take on line management responsibilities for a growing team.

Where required, to carry out onsite surveys and to establish best practice ensuring that all site operations are undertaken safely, in accordance with client requirements and to the highest quality. Lead on site data processing and data management including development of site models and graphical representation of acquired data to contract specifications.

A background in specialist access and having delivered asset inspection or investigation projects utilising divers, abseilers or within confined spaces would be advantageous however it is not essential. Equally, experience in Rail or Highways is preferrable although experience working in other comparable high-risk markets would be considered.

Skills and Experience

  • Level 5 qualification in Engineering
  • Associate Member of ICE/Concrete Society (or related organisation)
  • Industry recognised operational safety qualification (CSCS/PTS etc)
  • 5+ years operational experience including use of latest technologies and standards
  • Team Leadership experience preferred but not essential
  • Leading engineering projects in high risk environments
  • Strong data processing skills and data management experience
  • Effective communicator with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders
