My client are a rapidly growing star-up who empower asset managers, private equity firms, insurance companies and executive boards across the globe to solve their trickiest problems. They offer services across analytics, research, algorithms, and science to help organizations continually improve their decision-making.

They are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to join their team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining large-scale data processing systems on AWS, as well as leading the development of ETL pipelines for data analysis.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, building ETL pipelines, and managing the data lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Python and related infrastructure, including AWS Glue and AWS Lambda, with experience working with analytics services, APIs, and cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Deep understanding of data science toolkits such as Jupyter Notebook, NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Strong experience working with relational databases, particularly Postgres, with a good understanding of data modelling and schema design.
  • Proven experience building solutions on AWS and handling large-scale data processing.
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices such as TDD, code reviews, CI/CD practices, and branch management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex systems and data issues.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior data engineers and providing guidance on best practices and processes.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka would be an advantage.
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes would be an advantage.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
