Job summary

The Cyber Resilience Programme (CRP) is a multi-year transformation programme in Defence Digital covering a diverse set of 17 projects. The programme is substantially reducing risk, protecting critical assets and systems and developing a cyber aware workforce will allow MOD to make cyber security part of the DNA of its business and operations.


Defence Digital provides digital and technology services to our Armed Forces, ensuring they can operate securely via radio, satellite, and the internet. Operating at scale, with an annual budget in excess of £2Bn and a diverse team of 2,500 colleagues, we're aiming to make our Armed Forces some of the most technologically advanced in the world.

Due to security and information access restriction, the role is only open to a sole BRITISH national.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

This advert is for four Associate Delivery Managers covering the following CRP projects:

  • Cyber Awareness – Changing how MOD staff understand and act on cyber risk using a diverse set of awareness activities and training initiatives.
  • Cyber Audits – Running the cyber audits service which includes cyber capability audits of MOD suppliers, business units, and other key organisations against the NIST cyber security framework.
  • Cyber Risk Interventions – Delivering a diverse set of high-priority interventions to a range of MOD customers that share the common goal of reducing the department’s cyber risk.
  • Vulnerability Research – Using bug bounty, ethical hacking, and other initiatives to detect vulnerabilities in MOD systems so they can be acted on before they are exploited by adversaries.

Person specification

As an Associate Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for specific elements of the project supporting the Delivery Manager in their delivery. You will develop relevant skills as described in the government Digital, Data and Technology Profession Capability Framework. You Will:

  • Design and resource a team to deliver the capability.
  • Manage and deliver within the project to agreed outcomes and ensuring the most cost effective and efficient means of delivery.
  • Understand capability demands within the performance/cost/time envelope for delivery responsibilities.
  • Embed and adhere to all governance and policy enabling the required compliance throughout the team.
  • Support the customer with the objective and demand definition within the Defence Lines of Development spectrum.
  • Drive the timely establishment of contracts with Commercial Officers to enable the required contribution from industry.
  • Forecasting and managing budgets In-Year and supporting longer-term accounting period forecasts.

Encourage and deliver continual improvement of the delivery team and team effectiveness.

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
