We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic and organised Tool Hire Driver to join our team in Jewson Basingstoke (RG24 8PY)!

As a Tool Hire Driver, your role will be essential to keeping our branch and tool hire department running smoothly. This role has a strong focus on the delivery and collection of hire equipment using our delivery vehicles while providing top class customer service and performing general tool maintenance in the workshop.

This role is working with Jewson Basingstoke as part of the STARK Group. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.

Is this role right for me?

Experience within our industry is not essential, we are committed to providing you with the full tools and support required to carry out your role within Jewson. Some specific skills and experience we are looking for:

  • A full, clean driving license is essential for this role
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience in a delivery driving role
  • Mechanical experience would be beneficial, but not essential

Hours of work:7:00am-17:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am-12:00pm every other Saturday

What will I be doing?

A Tool Hire Driver will be in regular contact with our customers and therefore play a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience. In order to support our customers and deliver a great service you will;

  • Organise and carry out tool hire delivery and collection using our delivery vehicles, keeping customers updated
  • Understand customer needs and provide proactive advice and solutions
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
  • Use our in-house systems to process customer orders
  • Attach trailers to our delivery vehicles and tow equipment to sites (trailer training will be provided)
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
  • Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
