Job Description

A growing, independent, family-owned, insurance brokerage based in Portsmouth is looking to recruit a confident commercial account handler with a keen eye for detail.

Your role will be to maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service that the company is known for. The company will support you in developing your technical knowledge and paying for CII professional qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange new policies, renewals and MTAs
  • Report claims
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to clients and prospects
  • Discuss risk management objectives with clients
  • Arrange and attend client meetings
  • Prepare insurance documents, presentations and support the account directors
  • Assist with marketing and local business networking activities
  • Participate in the company’s corporate responsibility programme
  • Attend training and maintain CPD record

Person Specification

Essential

Qualifications

· GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade A-C

· A levels (or equivalent)

Experience

· Min 2 years experience in commercial account handling

· New business, renewals, MTAs and claims handling

Knowledge

· Confident knowledge of the following products: PI, D&O, Liabilities, combined products, motor fleet, marine cargo, etc.

Skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good organisational skills and time management.

· Competent with IT

· Fluent with Outlook, Word and Excel

Other

Desirable

Qualifications

· Degree

· CII qualification

Experience

· Experience with arranging insurance for SMEs with complex company structures

· Experience with Acturis
