Head of Compliance - National - £45k-£51k - £7.5k Car Allowance & 10% Bonus

The Head of Compliance will be responsible for driving compliance and consistency in operating standards across the business and its supply chain. The role holder will oversee site service checks including Electrical Inspection, PAT testing, Gas Compliance and Health & Safety, and maintain accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee control systems to minimize the risk of non-compliance, whether legislative, regulatory, company or client.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards.
  • Write policies and guidance to educate others on how to improve compliance.
  • Monitor and oversee compliance, driving improvement across the business.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop a strategy to ensure that all planned compliance tasks are carried out in a timely manner and schedules are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools, monitoring and methodologies to evidence compliance performance.
  • Support operational teams in managing any non-compliance and conduct investigations to prevent recurrence.
  • Scrutinize certification provided by third party suppliers and technicians.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and environmental standards.
  • Support business development activity to identify possible compliance risks.
  • Act as principle duty holder / EQS for NICEIC accreditation

Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to GCSE/Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • City and Guilds 2381 18th Edition.
  • Working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry, with previous working knowledge of a multi-client contracted environment being desirable; and PPM and compliance background.
  • Previous experience of effectively leading and managing a team.
  • Previous experience of developing client relationships at a senior level would be advantageous.
  • Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data along with a good understanding of the CAFM systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Strong results focus, takes accountability for own performance and that of the team.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Highly flexible and self-starting.
