What you'll do

As Head of Data Technology Products and Programmes, you’ll be responsible for the definition and leadership of strategic data technology change programmes and products, including leading the support for the banks ESG and Climate agenda. You’ll be responsible for delivering sustainable business and customer outcomes, while ensuring governance, risk, finances, and resources are managed effectively.

By understanding the technical direction, regulation and emerging technologies and trends, we’ll look to you to take ownership of the product and programme roadmap to deliver market leading data products to customers.

You’ll also be:

  • Creating the product and programme technical road map with the right architecture, strategic solutions, and commercial value
  • Providing your expertise to ensure optimal data solutions that meet our customers’ needs and the overall data strategy
  • Optimising the scheduling and sequencing of initiatives and achieving the agreed targets for the cycle time, risk and cost profiles of the platforms and products
  • Managing, leading and motivating a multidiscipline, multi-location team against expected delivery and organisational goals
  • Building, managing, and maintaining a positive working relationship with senior stakeholders across multiple franchises and functions, influencing decisions to achieve strategic objectives
  • Empowering and leading teams through the project lifecycle, matrix managing a virtual team and directly managing your own team

The skills you'll need

We'll need you to be an excellent communicator and leader, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to your colleagues at all levels. In addition, you'll have demonstrable experience of running high-performance and large-scaled programmes and building products using agile teams, paired with domain and platform product knowledge, experience and expertise.

On top of this, you’ll have:

  • Operational, risk management, financial management, collaboration and negotiation experience and expertise
  • A good commercial acumen with an acute understanding of the business landscape that’s relevant to your area
  • A proven track record of delivery and supporting one-bank strategic objectives across multiple customers and delivery partners
