Joining the AA family as a Head of Digital Product, you’ll lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams for your relevant area, to transform journeys and deliver market leading experiences by driving your passion for digital product delivery, with a natural ability to prioritise and cut through complexity.

Leading by example, you’ll line manage a team of Product Owners, Product Designers, Content Designers and Business Analysts to drive forward strategies, product roadmaps and product/feature development for our Digital Roadside business area with a view to increase adoption and growth in the use of our Digital Products amongst our customers and 32m UK drivers to achieve a great digital experience to be simple and smart with data, digital and innovation at the heart of all we do.

You’ll collaborate with counterparts and executive stakeholders across the organisation with being a natural storyteller, yet equally able to work with design, technical and commercial colleagues acting as the bridge between commercial and digital teams to provide confidence and clarity on the product roadmaps which will enable us to achieve our commercial goals.

What will I be doing?

  • Deliver through a number of Agile scrums teams, to transform our experience and step change performance – focussing relentlessly on customer and commercial outcomes
  • Secure budget required to deliver the Product Strategy and Roadmap through quarterly planning. Recruit suitable resources as required whilst remaining within budget constraints
  • Collaborate with Digital Analytics and Experience Design teams to continuously monitor our digital experiences and journeys using relevant data and insights to understand performance and use this to make valuable decisions
  • Drive an eCommerce and trading culture across your team, to ensure the delivery of a stretching digital sales plan, whilst balancing other deliveries and improvements
  • Embed best practice across the team, including both product (backlog management, requirement specification, continual cycles of test, learn and refinement) and design techniques (design thinking and lean UX best practice) to ensure we keep users at the heart of everything we do, delivering value at pace for our users
  • Ensure a good understanding of the Digital architecture relating to your Product area and influence the direction of the architecture strategy by working closely with the Engineering team
  • Define the Omnichannel strategy for your Product area to ensure a consistent and optimal approach is adopted for customers who move across channels, switching from online (app or web) to offline and vice versa

What do I need?

Essential:

  • Significant experience within Digital Products with demonstrable career growth to show a deep understanding of product management and development i.e., web and app technologies
  • Deep experience of managing a stretching digital sales plan as well as delivering multiple digital features and improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to challenge, influence and persuade a varying level of stakeholders i.e., Senior Leaders, Executives and Directors
  • High degree of commercial awareness with the ability to develop strategies that respond to and address opportunities and issues
  • People leadership experience with directly managing a team to build a thriving and collaborative team culture
  • Experience of successfully delivering change to customer journeys through development, delivery, and analysis phases
