Location - Gloucestershire
Rate - £24 - £27.42
- To effectively manage the physical assets of the Trust's estate ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- To monitor the management of the planned maintenance regime for engineering and estates services.
- To deliver estates compliance within the Trust
- To lead the operational development of the Estates function and team, ensuring all statutory and mandatory roles and responsibilities covered (or an action plan in place to deliver) and succession plans developed.
- To maximise the contribution / performance of all available estates resource and develop partnership ethos with not only estates & facilities colleagues, but all Trust colleagues.
- To identify cost pressures within service areas and take action as appropriate
- To have responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of all Trust estates related policies.
- To be responsible for managing a portfolio of key complex estates projects associated with the effective delivery of the Trust's strategic objectives as delegated by the Associate Director of Estates, Facilities & Medical equipment, across all Trust service areas.
- Manage the Estates planned and reactive maintenance service.
- Monitor the performance and quality of the services provided to the Trust by in house resource and external suppliers.
- To effectively manage mechanical (decontamination, heating systems; ventilation systems; hot & cold water systems; lifts & hoists; fuel storage and distribution systems & generators) and electrical (electrical systems; security alarm & detection systems & fixed engineering plant).
- To lead on building (structure, roofing, drainage, fenestration, security and grounds)
- To have contact with service users and carers via the appropriate user groups giving advice on Estates and Facilities issues when required
- Responsible for Controls Assurance for estates, maintenance, fire, waste and environmental issues, identifying risks to the organisation and liaising with relevant parties to progress all necessary work.
- To recruit and line manage staff, including objective setting, appraisal and development.
- To have responsibility for the development and commissioning of all requisite Essential to Job role training for estates colleagues, linking with the Training Department accordingly.
- Monitor the input of data to NHS Estates Data Collection Analysis Systems
- To work cohesively with the Head of Estates - Transformation & Governance to develop strategies for key projects and initiatives
- Maintain the Trust's budgets for Estates and maintenance and support Estates projects or programmes delivery within planned cost, time scale and resource budget.
