Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Day Surgery Unit based at Eastbourne DGH.
This is an eight bedded unit running morning and afternoon lists, covering multiple specialities, some of which include Orthopaedics, Gynae, Urology, Max Fax.
This is also a great opportunity to get involved with the pre-assessment process for the Day Case Patients.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 HCA with fantastic communication skills, who thrives in a fast-paced working environment, as patient turnover will be rapid.
You will need to be versatile with a great attitude for learning and be prepared to work independently within the unit, whilst always having access to a support network around you.
This job will most likely transfer across to the new elective care hub based at Eastbourne - Building for our future. Approximate completion date September 2024.
Pre-Assessment of Day Case Patients.
Phlebotomy, ECG, Cannulation, Online Referrals, awareness of policy & procedure for management of post-operative patients.
Welcome Patients into the Unit and prepare them for Theatre.
Post Operative care requirements.
Help to support Nurse in preparation for discharge.
Complete safety checks.
To be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Trust.
Behave and act at all times in accordance with the Trust Values, of Working Together, Respect and Compassion, Engagement and Involvement and Improvement and Development
To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
To be aware of the Trust’s emergency planning processes and follow such processes as necessary, in the event of an unexpected incident.
