HR Project Manager – Outside IR35

Contract Term: 12 months

Contracting Authority: AWE

Location: Hybrid Working (up to three days per week office based – Aldermaston)

AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a HR Project Manager, your main responsibilities would be to:

  • Lead and deliver HR projects on time and within budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to ensure understanding of any changes resulting in a smooth roll out across the business.
  • Provide research and make recommendations on HR solutions to business requirements aligned to the people plan.
  • Ensure HR initiatives are in line with best practice, legal and regulatory requirements etc. to deliver improvements and build momentum for change, and challenge existing ways of working if they inhibit improvement.
  • Ensure interdependencies and risks to delivery are identified and managed to ensure smooth running of the projects Build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business to ensure HR are working collaboratively with the business to understand the implication of any changes to the business and build this into the project ensuring line managers have the tools, information and knowledge of any changes.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
  • Lead HR projects as a dedicated specialist ensuring provision of creative expert advice and guidance.
  • Driving culture of high performance, to ensure that AWE is efficient and effective in management of their employees
  • Drive implementation of any changes to supporting technologies required to deliver results
  • Be the expert and escalation point for your area of specialism for HR teams.
  • Be the expert and key point of the contact for the business ensuring a consistency in messaging around any specific projects
  • Participate in and manage discussions and negotiations with the Trade Unions (TUs) as required and build the necessary relationships with local TU representatives.
  • Provide expert support to the Heads of HR and wider HR teams.
  • Anticipate legal updates, ensure they are interpreted for our business and take action to maintain the service.
  • Represent the organisation, where appropriate, on external forums and working groups.
  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs

Essential:

  • Experience in HR or Recruitment Tech Projects
  • Experience in full Project Management and Delivery of Projects
  • Experience in ATS Systems
  • Public/Private Sector background
  • Active SC Clearance
  • Available for travel to London (on an as and when basis)
