Maxxima have recently partnered with a Leading Private Hospital. We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Hospice Consultant who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership for the service. This post is based in North West London, which is easily accessible via public transport.

About the role:
As a Lead Hospice Consultant, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services. This role will require you to work full-time hours across the week for a total of 32 hours.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Hospice Consultant :

• Work as part of a team of consultants, providing specialist palliative care to patients predominantly in the hospice DCU and Outpatients. The post will also require occasional palliative care reviews of hospital patients, in addition to cross-covering the community and the IPU to ensure adequate clinical cover for the service is maintained when colleagues are on leave.
• Act as a key member of the Senior Management Team, liaising with the Chief Nursing Officer, Medical Director, Assistant Director of Nursing – Hospice, Consultants in Palliative Medicine, Hospice Heads of Departments and other staff members, ensuring a multi-disciplinary approach to palliative care
• Education and teaching for doctors in training and professionals visiting the unit

What we are looking for in a Lead Hospice Consultant :

• Full GMC registration
• Membership of relevant Royal College or equivalent
• Postgraduate higher qualification: PhD, Diploma or master’s degree in an appropriate subject is desirable
• Qualified Medical Practitioner
• Extensive experience in palliative medicine
