What we are looking for

Based in our state of the art Sterile Services Unit, your work will be varied, stimulating and will involve the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilization of surgical instruments. By joining us you’ll be making a significant contribution to Patient Safety in both Private and NHS Hospitals. As a Decontamination Supervisor Lead Technician, you will:

  • Work alongside your Production Team Leader to learn and deliver all aspects of the role
  • Manage a team of decontamination technicians to maintain the delivery of a high quality decontamination service within the HSSU.
  • Mentor and support less experienced members of the team.
  • Assist in the preparation of sterile and/or disinfected medical devices, under controlled conditions, to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst checking medical devices for cleanliness, functionality and damage, and taking action to rectify any problems and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Successful candidates will ensure that process equipment and accessories are in full working order and that all faults and anomalies are reported.
  • Have good organisational skills, post holders will be required to maintain accurate records / documentation in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor stock issues as they arise and advise their line manager when goods need to be re-ordered.

What do you need?

  • Experience of instrumentation in a working Sterile Department minimum full process technician training Essential
  • To be able to liaise with Customers in a professional manor via telephone and Email
  • To be able to manage own time accordingly
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, and good computer literacy with knowledge of Traceability system
  • Attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.

Key Information

This role will include working 1 in 4 weekends with a day off in the week with incentive of 20%

Salary – £12.30 per hour £24960 per annum Competitive and excellent benefits including free gym membership. Additional enhancements for unsocial hours and weekend working.
Location - Stoke HSSU
Hours - Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern - 6am - 2pm & 12pm - 8pm rotational week to week with weekend cover included (discussed at time of interview)
