About the role

Do you have an interest in supporting colleagues to develop in their role, grow their skills and fulfil their potential?

An exciting opportunity for a 2-year fixed term post has arisen within the Learning and Development Team within Cambridgeshire County Council as a Learning and Development Advisor. You’ll be joining a welcoming and friendly adults’ team of around 11, and the wider Learning and Development Service of 40 colleagues. You will work with colleagues across the PVI sector supporting the delivery of the Care Certificate.

The post holder will be able to work flexibly from home or from our Stanton House office in Huntingdon and other offices around the County. We are also able to offer flexible and part time working patterns, these allow everyone to effectively blend their work and life commitments. Please note there is also an opportunity for this post to be a 2-year secondment for colleagues working for Cambridgeshire County Council.

What will you be doing?

You will be delivering face to face training including Assisting and Moving Individuals and First Aid as well supporting those assessing the Care Certificate through huddles, observations and 1:1 support. You would be expected to deliver to a wide range of staff within the PVI sector so will be able to demonstrate that you have skills in delivering learning to groups of people. Experience in the design and delivery of sessions would be an advantage but not essential as full training and coaching will be provided.

This post requires the ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as and when required to complete observations within the learners work environment.

About you

Ideally, we would be looking for someone with experience in working with adults. The ideal candidate will have good skills in communication and facilitation of groups with an ability to manage discussions in a group setting, engage all learners by considering Learning Styles, present information in a clear and confident manner and keep up to date on latest research and changes to policies and legislation.
