A great opportunity has arisen at Newman University for a solution-focused individual to join the successful and highly regarded library service as a key member of our Library Service Delivery Team.

As an Academic Service Librarian, you will lead on library engagement within a number of subject areas at the University. You will build and maintain positive relationships with students and teaching staff, design and deliver information skills training, and monitor library resources to maintain a relevant and useful library collection.

To be successful in applying for this role, you should have at least one of:

  • a professional qualification in librarianship or a related discipline

or

  • substantial experience working in an academic library in a teaching or liaison role

or

  • substantial experience working in a health library in a professional role

You will have up-to-date knowledge of best practice in teaching digital and information literacy skills, and a commitment to your own continuing professional development in these areas. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to working positively with both students and colleagues across the University.
