Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Medical Secretary to join the Clinical Administration team at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

In this role you will provide invaluable secretarial and administrative support to ensure that the service as a whole runs efficiently and effectively and that the highest quality of care is afforded to our patients. In return we can offer support and development opportunities.

You will assist the consultants and the wider department in delivering a high standard of patient-focused administrative support. This will include the typing up and processing of clinical documentation, as well as supporting patients with any relevant queries or concerns.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Recent secretarial experience, ideally within an NHS environment.
  • Terminology knowledge.
  • Experience of using the BigHand digital system and E-Letter system.
  • Good communication skills and sympathetic telephone manner.
  • Knowledge and experience of Cosmic
  • Knowledge of other hospital systems (e.g. case note tracking)
  • Relevant terminology experience.
  • Good IT/keyboard skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Good attention to detail
  • Have the ability to lift and transport medical records (using trolley provided)
  • Flexibility
This is an exciting time for PAHT. Over the next five years we are on a digital transformation journey, leading us to our brand new hospital.

Initially you will be based at the PAHT Main Site, but there is potential move to our office in KAO Park, Church Langley. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, and training will be provided if necessary.
