Solihull Council are looking to recruit a Portfolio Support Officer who will play a crucial role in delivering change across the organisation. The right candidate will need to display a logical approach, strong people skills, and an ability to use initiative to facilitate and support various programmes and projects across the Council.
As Portfolio Support Officer, you will support a diverse range of activities around the delivery of the Council’s objectives. Primarily, as a Portfolio Support Officer you will provide insight, information and operational support that strengthens governance and enables the smooth running of the Council’s programmes and projects.
You will work closely with programme and project managers across the Council to support change and ensure confidence that your projects and programmes are on track to deliver their objectives.
Working collaboratively, you will support the management of the formal assurance processes for programmes and projects. You will work to ensure that all programmes and projects are carrying out the required governance and assurance processes and provide support and training on the Council’s governance methodology.
In return, working for Solihull offers you the opportunity to develop your professional skills and experience with the challenge and variety that supporting public services provides.
We can also offer employees an inclusive and supportive team environment, together with a range of flexible working options, attractive staff discounts and a career average pension scheme.
We recently adopted our smarter ways of working model which recognises what work is about what you do and not where you go. As part of this, this role will involve working on a hybrid basis which includes a combination of working from home and from our offices in central Solihull. Whilst your base location is not important, you must be willing to travel to the office as and when needed in order to fulfil the needs of the service.
