Role Purpose

This role will lead and drive a programme of product enhancements on verify™. You’ll be monitoring performance and communicating with a large and varied stakeholder group including customers and senior management on a daily basis. You will also need to keep an eye on the broader motor claims market, as we transform our services, products and platforms, to ensure strategic fit. You’ll also be responsible for maximising return on investment.

This position will report directly to the Head of Motor, Partnerships & Eco-system and oversees two dedicated sqauds focussed on serving today's customers and delivering new capabilities to support business growth targets

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Consistently communicate with customers (internal and external) to understand what they do, the problems they have, and the solutions they need. It is anticipated that the role will be up to 80% focussed on client and stakeholder engagement
  • Working with customers and business stakeholders to identify and analyse opportunities to improve our products.
  • Something for managed – Like “lead market engagement for our managed Third party motor teams, working with the managed team and customers to develop strategies to optimise claims outcomes for Third Party motor claims.”
  • Effectively manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, leading teams to deliver products and features that fit with strategic goals and objectives:
  • Building product backlog for development team in line with the strategic goals and objectives
  • Work effectively in an agile environment to deliver product increments or features and ensure that requirements are met.
  • Measure and monitor product performance after releases
  • Use the best practice product methodologies to achieve outcomes
  • Maintain a discovery backlog of possible innovations
  • Collaborate across Verisk to develop and meet high quality outcomes
  • Deliver measurable value to both customers and Verisk
  • Lead the verify™ products team and direct developers, Data Scientists and QA resources allocated to the platforms in a matrix organisation
  • Develop and deliver a strategy for the verify™ platform
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to develop and optimise IT architecture and control costs
  • Coach, develop and nurture new talent
  • Work as part of the Motor Claims management team to build a team focused on growth and delivery excellence

Qualifications


To be successful in this role you’ll be a product owner professional with at least 5 years’ experience, preferably with a motor claims background. You’ll be able to develop best in class products that match customer need and deliver commercial value. You will be a self-starter, energised by a challenge, passionate about bringing great products to market, and love the thrill of creating a new standard for what’s possible.

You will have:

  • Ideally a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a related field
  • Experience of having discovered and delivered opportunities within an organisation with primary responsibility for a product roadmap definition and agile delivery
  • Experience of project and product delivery with cross-functional teams, able to overcome/adapt to unforeseen challenges to meet commitments
  • Understand costs vs value and clearly communicates and prioritises delivery accordingly
  • Solving complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Can work independently when required, identify innovation solutions, receiving minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the techniques and methods of product discovery and product delivery.
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence and engage direct reports and peers
  • Demonstrated experience of senior stakeholder management
  • Experience of management, mentoring and coaching a team whilst driving a high-performance culture
  • Highly evolved communication skills and an ability to translate technical information into business language
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation
  • Proficiency in MS Office and JIRA
  • Proven leadership skills
