Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for providing pastoral support and advice for candidates commencing work with the organisation as part of the International Recruitment Programme. As well as supporting the
candidates in this specific project, the Pastoral Care Coordinator will also work closely with the International Nurse Education team.
Under the supervision and with the support of the International Recruitment Pastoral Care Lead, act as a focus of support and guidance to international recruits joining the organisation for the first time. The post holder will offer emotional and social support, with practical assistance to help people feel safe and supported in their first few days, weeks and months. There will also be some administrative support
required on an ad-hoc basis.
The post holder will be based at the City Hospital Campus but will on occasion be required to work across all NUH sites and external venues in order to deliver this service.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and assisting with the physical welcome of the international nurse into the UK;
you will ensure that they are supported through their journey to their site base and support the international project team in assisting with a smooth arrival process.
The post holder will have the ability to work independently, however will make decisions and problem solve under
the supervision of the International Recruitment Pastoral Care Lead and international recruitment team. This post holder will work flexibly (including some weekend and out of hours working) to meet the requirements of the role.
This role will support nurses in various locations in Nottingham.
To facilitate and support individuals in the inclusion of care delivery and to effectively overcome any obstacles that may arise due to lack of understanding. To offer advice and support about the clinical environment and protocols and processes of the ward environment.
The post holder must have an understanding of the clinical challenges the new recruits may face, and they can advise and rationalise approaches and actions used.

Link with the international recruits virtually to commence communication and relationship building, prior to arrival in the UK.
Answer any questions around culture
Ongoing pastoral support to International Recruits within agreed specified periods including evenings and weekends
Link to social networks within the trust
Be available to answer questions or explain cultural differences (e.g. mannerisms, traditions, social norms and acceptance of other groups)
In liaison with International Recruitment Team arrange meeting arrivals at airport, arrange transfer to accommodation and ensure candidates are met at their trust accommodation.
Develop and maintain links with external organisations and support recruitment events for international nurses
