Hunter Masons client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced International planner/Project manager working on planning systems in develpoing countries (must be remote based)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and preparation of winning bids to obtain government grants for the establishment of planning systems in developing countries.
  • Design and implement innovative planning strategies to support the execution of large-scale regeneration projects.
  • Utilize your negotiation skills and engage in political lobbying to gain support and secure funding from key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with international governments, local authorities, NGOs, and donor agencies to forge effective working relationships and facilitate the delivery of regeneration projects.
  • Provide project management expertise to oversee and ensure successful implementation of planning initiatives.
  • Develop service level agreements and garner support for major projects from diverse audiences.
  • Actively listen to stakeholders' concerns and address them through open discussion and negotiation.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information and project proposals effectively.
  • Stay updated on planning policies, regulations, and best practices in both the UK and abroad.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in planning policy and local government, with a strong track record of successful planning project delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop winning bids and secure government grants and funding for large-scale projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, political lobbying, and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of land use planning systems, urban regeneration, and transport, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across different sectors.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in team management, empowering team members, and sharing knowledge.
