Adept are excited to be working with a well-established, heavy engineering company in Sheffield. The company supply into various industries including MOD, Nuclear and Steel & Rail. Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer / Documentation Controller to maintain the Quality System certification required and continuously improve the standard of Quality Assurance.
This role will be responsible for the timely delivery of documentation to demonstrate part compliance and facilitate final delivery or interim gate stages.
Main Responsibilities:
· Carry out internal audits to the audit schedule
· Conduct audits / assessments of supply chain operation processes, procedures and performance to assess capability and commitment to company Values and Behaviours
· Identify improvement opportunities and develop improvement plans to address identified weaknesses
· Provide status reports to follow up on agreed actions to ensure they have been implemented effectively
· Provide support to procurement to define the supplier quality metrics.
· Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
· Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the suppliers to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
· Maintain the E10 systems for the identification and control of Non-Conforming Product; Concession request management; NCR Investigation and CAR (8D) investigation and close out.
· Analysis and presentation of NCR and concession data by Value Stream to show trends, weaknesses and identify areas for Continuous Improvement
· Generate audit reports and action plans.
· Read and understand requirements for quality documentation
· Deliver the quality documentation packs ready for the final release of product.
· Co-ordination of final C of C and Conformance test reports with activities for final release and delivery including the coordination of final certificates and other documents from the various contributing departments: Technical, NDE, sub-contractor; machining; dimensional checking; welding etc.
· Organising the various document streams into one consolidated and consistently formatted document pack that meets the customers specification requirements for final documentation
Person Specification:
· ISO 9001:2015 Auditor
· Engineering degree or Quality Degree recognised by QCI
· Knowledge of Defence Manufacturing and AQAP 2110 Quality Requirements
· Knowledge of Nuclear Quality System requirements – ASME QSC, NPT, RCC-M, ISO 19443
· Knowledge of Engineering manufacturing processes, Steelmaking, Casting, Forging, Welding, Machining etc.
· Knowledge of Offshore Oil & Gas certification bodies, LR, DNVGL, ABS,
· Familiarity with problem solving techniques: PARETO; FMEA etc.
