A manufacturer of precision components to the Aerospace, and Defence sectors has a new vacancy for a Quality Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for ensuring quality targets are achieved in line with external accreditations and ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to. You must have a strong leadership and influential skills and have worked in a precision engineering environment, ideally aerospace.

Salary: £ 52,000 - £ 65,000 p.a. + benefits

The Role
To ensure that manufacturing quality processes and problem resolution in the business are fit for purpose.
To work with key business stakeholders to create a culture of quality within the business.
To use appropriate tools and techniques to ensure the embedding of quality governance within the business.
Understanding importance of Quality Performance through customer feedback and surveys
Establish governance of the deployment of the QMS within the business and assess its effectiveness through management of internal audit programmes.
Ensuring that a detailed calendar of all external audits (such as AS9100, NADCAP, and customer audits) is maintained and that appropriate preparation for audits occurs in a timely manner
Managing the conduct of external audits and scheduling internal audits
Ensuring that there is an effective quality assurance system in place and ensure that there is governance in place for NCR closure within required timeframes.
Lead, manage and motivate a team of quality engineers and creating a proactive and engaged culture across the team.
Delivering or facilitating appropriate training in relation to quality issues.
The Person
Experience of deploying and maintaining Quality Management Systems ideally with appropriate AS9100 Lead Auditor training.
Experience of leading teams and influencing and building relationships at different levels.
Experience in an operational environment at a management level
Managing ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
Experience of designing or implementing or maintaining a framework to ensure quality standards.
Strong commercial awareness of the importance of quality while being analytical and pragmatic are essential qualities.
Experience of designing remediation plans to address quality issues, and track record of following through to ensure closure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with people at all levels.
Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements.
