QUALITY TECHNICIAN (MANUFACTURING) / CREWKERNE

Hours: Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment business, are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician on a permanent contract for our manufacturing client based in Crewkerne.
The successful candidate will provide quality technician support to the associated quality engineering function and support quality investigations and continuous improvements within the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Confirming adherence to processes and specifications by validating in-process measurements
Completing audit checking
Supporting in ISIR validation, calibration and metrology
Supporting improvement activities and projects
Internal NCR processing through the site MRB process
Carrying out and supporting non-conformance root cause investigations covering both internal manufacture and initial supplier non-conformance disposition and notification and submission of 8D to suppliers
Liaising with the relevant supply chain personnel to ensure effective PCA
Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the EHS organizational arrangements
Daily paperwork auditing production documentation for completeness and accuract, plus checking gauge calibration / fitness for use
Dimensional reports to support ppap activity (including programming)
Programming measuring equipment eg Micro Vu, Mitutoyo roundness, Taylor Hobsons
100% inspection / verification of safety critical components
Measurement ISIRs plus verification of production output
Liaising with production management team members on specific issues and action follow up
Fault finding / problem solving - soft turn hand turn grind
Attendance of MRB and supporting disposition in co-ordination with the relevant Q/E
Maintaining appropriate records
About you:
Knowledge of checking and inspection processes relating to stores, goods inwards, machining, deburr, heat treat, plating, assembly and test is desirable
Experience with the use of standard measuring equipment
Ability to learn programming methods on multiple equipment set ups
Knowledge and appreciation of calibration requirements
Awareness of Quality Toolset and 8D problem solving methodology
Awareness of JDE / Microsoft Office / Omnex
