Job Description

Our client's commercial team on a major infrastructure project is expanding and are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join them. As a member of the team, you will play an integral role in ensuring the successful delivery of various subcontract packages for the construction of a viaduct that traverses marshland, wetland, and a river. This is a unique chance to join a leading contractor and participate in an exciting project that will positively impact hundreds of communities and the broader economy.

The Quantity Surveyor's primary responsibilities will include:

  • Efficient management of all commercial aspects of the packages of work under your responsibility, from procurement to final accounts
  • Review and evaluate contractor's claims for additional payment
  • Offer advice on procurement strategy, contractual terms and conditions, and commercial risks
  • Draft and issue tender documentation and conduct tender evaluations
  • Prepare and submit monthly cost reports to the project team and clients
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and statutory requirements


To be considered for this position, Quantity Surveyors must have experience in the following areas:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar or qualification from experience
  • Expericne working in the UK's construction industry
  • Experience working on infrastructure or heavy civils projects
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
