Summary
The governors of this very successful Catholic High School wish to appoint a temporary Registration and Admin Support Officer for 25 hours per week, term time only, to join our Pastoral Team to enable us to cover a maternity leave from 4 September 2023 to some time between the end of March 2024 and mid July 2024 (depending on the maternity leave return date).
The successful candidate will:
- Provide attendance administration;
- Work to support the Pastoral Team to improve pupil attendance;
- Provide administration support for our Behaviour/Detention system ;
- Be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards are maintained, personal development and well-being are achieved;
- Have the skills to play a key role in the continued development of this key area;
- Be willing to go the extra mile for our pupils
Under the supervision of the Attendance Officer, you will carry out the administrative work involved in monitoring pupils’ attendance within the school. Under the supervision of the Assistant Headteacher for Pastoral, you will provide administrative support to the Inclusion Room. This involves data input, accurate record keeping and letters to parents alongside the ability to make and receive parental calls. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, energy, and the ability to contribute to the work of a very successful team. The successful candidate needs to have excellent IT and communication skills.

Essential Qualifications
GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English
Essential Experience
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to relate well to school staff, pupils and their parents
Can demonstrate in their current role, the capacity to work effectively with a range of people at a professional level
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word and Excel with excellent keyboard skills
Able to use IT effectively and efficiently
Desirable Experience
Has knowledge of the use of SIMS
Has a basic knowledge of how schools are organised and managed
