Job Title: Cyber Security Risk Analyst

Location: London E3 - 2 days a week from home

Rate: £500-£600 per day

Job Type: 6 months+

The Security Delivery (SD) function within BET (Business Engagement & Technology) provides comprehensive security support focusing on (but not exclusive to) threat profiles, quantifying risk as well as being the custodian for technical security standards and patterns within the MPS. It provides information up to the SIRO on the current state of the Met's environment and works with the supplier security leads to provide a holistic picture of the current and emerging security state.

The Cyber Security Risk Analysts play a crucial part in this service by providing threat and risk artefacts which are essential in helping to shape the MPS security posture.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cyber security risk assessments and analysis of threat intelligence
  • Producing risk management reports and presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Providing technical expertise on cyber security risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures
  • Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure that all aspects of security risk are appropriately addressed
  • Providing recommendations for the development and implementation of new security policies and procedures
  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the latest cyber security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Contributing to the design, development and delivery of cyber security awareness and training programmes
  • Conducting security testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Providing guidance and support to other members of the security team
  • Any other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, conducting cyber security risk assessments and producing risk management reports
  • Excellent understanding of cyber security risks, threat intelligence and the latest industry developments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders at all levels
  • Awareness and appreciation of Cyber Security in the context of law enforcement
  • Formal training in any of the following is advantageous but not mandatory: InfoSec Training Paths and Competencies (ITPC), Cyber First, SANS, GCHQ backed Cyber / Information Security
