Do you have experience in working as a School’s Administrator? Are you adaptable and flexible in your approach to work? Can you work well on your own and with a team?
Our two rural primary schools are at the heart of the villages of Goldsborough and Sicklinghall. Their distinctive ethos, caring culture and welcoming nature draw pupils and their parents from our local communities and beyond.
Goldsborough CE and Sicklinghall Community Primary Schoolscame together in a Federation at the start of 2017, seeking to build on and share each other’s strengths and create a sustainable resource base for the future. Staff, pupils and parents have all embraced the move and we have already seen significant sharing of experience, ideas and resources across the schools.
We are looking to appoint an additional member of the admin team who is an organised, dedicated and supportive professional to work as School Administrator two days per week, based at Sicklinghall Primary School. This will be a federated role and could include working at Goldsborough occasionally too.
As we are a hands-on school, you will be the face and voice of our lovely and welcoming community where no two days are the same. You will deal with a wide range of different tasks and situations sometimes at short notice. These range from parental engagement, supporting the Headteacher in correspondence, organising school trips, pupil attendance, dealing with money and invoices to name but a few! The days are busy and unique!
We are looking for:
· A colleague who has a welcoming `front of house’ manner; is friendly and approachable and will be part of a strong reliable team.
· Someone who has respect for confidentiality and has the ability to work under pressure and prioritise their time effectively.
· Proven experience with using technology and is able to multi task and use different systems at the same time.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Experience of working in a school or office environment and ideally have experience of using Scholar Pack / Parent Mail / Parent Pay / Evolve (although training will be provided)
· Comfortable to take responsibility for safe guarding issues when the Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher are offsite or at the other school.
· Ability to be flexible with day to day changes.
· Availability to swap working days if needed, following agreement with the line manager
· Someone with a proactive ‘Can Do’ attitude
Working for our schools will be challenging but rewarding. You will benefit from leadership team who welcome fresh ideas, traditional values and a sense of teamwork. As well as this you will be working alongside well supported teachers and support professionals who are committed to driving high standards from the pupils and the staff.
As a North Yorkshire County Council employee you will have access to some great benefits via our Everybody Benefit’s Scheme such as shopping discounts, home technology and green car salary sacrifice schemes, financial wellbeing and Health Assured, our employee assistance programme, to assist with your health and wellbeing. You will also have access to our Local Government Pension Scheme, a generous plan for your retirement with the option to increase your monthly contribution if you so wish.
