  Mitie are currently looking to recruit a Security Operations Manager to oversee the branch and business plan ensuring the division are delivering to agreed objectives/targets.
 
  Our Operations Manager will be assisting with managing the day to day operational running of the branch through effective management of staff and customers. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Regional Management Team to provide excellent customer service, employee satisfaction and ensure that all business-related tasks are completed in a timely fashion – further ensuring regional operational growth plans.
 
  The main duties of our Operations Manager will include (but not be limited to): 
 
  - To ensure the security and safety of the client team staff, contractors, working colleagues;
- To protect the assets of the client by following recognised best practice techniques/procedures
- To ensure the security and safety of the site
- To effectively organise and manage all security team workloads as required without compromising quality of service provision
- To respond to emergencies and assist with the evacuation and searching of the buildings by following all requirements of the site Emergency Response procedures.
- To ensure that at all times security team members are deployed effectively to post; operate all the required systems and conducting all required functions. Working in conjunction with the Resource Manager, to ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional service standards to internal/external customers.
- Parade, deploy and manage all security team members throughout their tour of duty. Ensure that security team members are correctly dressed at all times; that tasks are correctly allocated and performed and that incidents are effectively handled.
- To continuously demand the highest standards of service delivery from security team members by providing full briefings and guidance to them.
- To maintain an effective duty of care to security team members ensuring that all required procedures/policies relevant to: Health & Safety at Work legislation: Staff Welfare & Development Training: Disciplinary & Grievance: Discriminatory & Harassment: Alcohol & Drug Misuse: Equal Opportunities are correctly explained and followed, thus serving the best interests of the employee, Interserve and the client team.
- Undertake fair and efficient duty rostering of the team; allocate annual leave and overtime duties to prescribed procedures, liaising with the Resource Manager as required. Implement the company performance management mechanism, which should include the periodic monthly/annual progress reviews and complete probation reports for subordinates to prescribed deadlines. Monitor attendance and time-keeping records and take any required remedial action where necessary. Investigate and report to senior line management on disciplinary and grievance matters whilst providing leadership and support to sustain good team morale.
- Participate and contribute positively to the security team management. Attend meetings as required and provide reports and recommendations on the activities of the security operation.
- Be committed to Health & Safety and ensure that you are familiar with all Interserve/client Health & Safety policies and procedures. Police and encourage observance with all site security & safety policies, in particular ensuring that the access control, key control, smoking and Health & Safety policies are observed and enforced.
- Perform at the start/end of each tour of duty, in conjunction with Shift Managers, verification checks of all the Control Room equipment ensuring that all systems are fully operational and where they are not, initiate corrective action. Where necessary, and in conjunction with senior line management, re-deploy security team members to act as substitute cover.
- Manage and control the response to all incidents in a timely and effective manner by directing the security team members. At all times the central aim should be to safeguard the assets of the client, ensuring that direction from senior line management is sought where appropriate. In particular activate in part or in whole the client Emergency Response Plan where applicable.
- Ensure that the maintenance of contemporaneous records is conducted from which Daily Situation Reports and handovers can be compiled and made available to senior line management. Maintain other such records as directed by senior line management to ensure that a full transparency of events and their handling is possible.
- Vary the protective deployment of the site security team members in accordance with the advised prevailing state of alert, as advised by senior line management.
- Manage the retention, issue and receipt of all site keys held or deposited within the Security Control Centre, ensuring that accurate tracking and receipt records are maintained. Conduct at the start and end of each tour of duty an inventory check and report any losses to senior line management as and when they occur.
- Direct and periodically supervise the entry and exit searches conducted by members of the site security team at the designated entry points as a part of the management of effective access control procedures.
- Manage the polite and effective processing of all telephone enquiries received at the Security Control Centre [SCC]. Process building fault reports where appropriate, passing and escalating to the correct helpdesk and if necessary requesting the assistance of senior line management in resolving.
- Deploy security team members to escort contract workers. Contract workers may not be allowed access to site without an escort unless they are listed as authorised by the relevant client sponsoring department as being exempt from supervision. In all cases, no contractor may enter a restricted space without the prior clearance from the department owning the space, and then only under escort. All such authorisations should be received in writing.
- Deploy off site members of the site security team as required for routine, or exceptional, supervision of non-security staff working at any recognised outstation or in the case of security equipment failure. Be prepared at all times to deploy staff in the case of an emergency event arising.
- At the start/end of each tour of duty ensure that the correctly prescribed unlock/lockdown procedures are conducted.
- During Corporate Events, liaise with the Support Manager and assigned security team members assigned, to ensure that adequate back up support is provided and that additional closedown checks are carried out after the event has concluded.
- Tour the site periodically (a minimum of 4 periods over a tour of duty) to ensure that all is in order, to check designated areas and to ensure that all site security team members are carrying out their required duties effectively and responsibly. Such tours are to be recorded within the Duty Occurrence Book.
- Ensure all patrolling and duty officers have the necessary equipment required to complete all their duty tasks in a safe and competent manner. Patrolling officers should at all times carry a two way radio, any required keys for the areas concerned, a notebook and pencil and at night, a working torch.
- Follow any such reasonable instruction as issued by Senior Line Management
 Our Operations Manager will ideally have: 
 
  - Full driving licence
- Front line SIA licence
- At least 2 years security industry experience
- Financially aware
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in problem solvin
