Job Description

Following the previous role holders move to a new team, we look forward to welcoming an experienced Occupational Therapist who is able to join us , with an active interest in delivering therapeutic interventions within the community mental health setting, supporting the service users recovery.

There is a strong professional structure to support Occupational Therapists within the Trust. Within this structure there is support given towards personal and professional development through training and support structures.

You will be working as part of the South West Essex Occupational Therapy provision, working within the MDT delivering services principally to services users within the Basildon locality. You will be assessing the service users functional needs, establishing a care plan with them, and delivering therapeutic intervention (individually or in group format) aimed towards supporting their recovery, and managing your caseload.

The post will suit a motivated, treatment focused Occupational Therapist, with experience of working with those with mental health difficulties. The post holder will need to be competent in the management of service users with a focus upon Occupational Therapy approaches and interventions that support recovery. You will need to work as part of the wider MDT but with the confidence to be able to practice autonomously.
