The Arcadis Places Design Practice (APDP) is a multidisciplinary design practice including Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, and Structural Engineering. Sometimes we deliver a standalone Interior Design Service for our clients, we also offer a one stop shop of consultancy services including full Design & Engineering, Project Management and Cost Management.

Role description:

Our Interiors Team are proud to continue to add to their list of recent project successes, securing some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating projects to complement their existing portfolio of works. The projects are diverse and challenging and cover the workplace, retail, retail banking, automotive, transportation and industrial sectors.

Reporting to the Workplace Design Manager, you will provide technical support into a variety of projects within the property environment. As we operate in such a diverse marketplace, you will gain experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of projects which will enhance your skills and test your technical knowledge and will have an opportunity to develop your career within a growing and successful global Interior Design Consultancy.

Some of the major projects you will be involved in include but are not limited to:

  • Multi-disciplinary projects
  • CAT A & CAT B Workplace fit outs
  • Strategy, Design & Delivery for new and refurbished office spaces
  • New store design, including design standards Governance & Assurance

Role accountabilities:

  • Responsibility for the delivery of a defined part of the project, with fees up to £500K - £1m.
  • Planning assigned projects and allocating work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilisation of resources.
  • Monitoring the commercial performance of the project and taking remedial action where necessary.
  • Working with key stakeholders to clarify the scope of the project and the specific client and project criteria that are to be met.
  • Monitoring the performance of the team members, identifying, and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
  • Coaching, guiding, and providing technical advice to junior team members, supporting them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, develop and prepare winning sales proposals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors’ interior design, design management or architectural degree
  • Member of Professional Body that is pertinent to your role.
  • Demonstrable design lead capability and applied workplace sector experience.
  • Creative and innovative strategic thinker in workplace design principals.
  • Strong experience in multi-disciplinary design of the workplace environment.
  • Competent in Revit and CDE platforms, with knowledge of other industry recognised design software.
  • Strong understanding & experience delivering project in BIM.
  • Thorough understanding of the delivery and management of all RIBA Work Stages.
