This Trainee Test Engineer role is working for a company based in Southampton. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm. The role is also paying a salary up to £25,000. The role is onsite only.
The company design, produce and implement computer based systems, tailored and customised to meet the needs of clients within the electricity supply industry. This includes a range of different hardware, software and panels to be used as part of their data collecting metering equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to ensure that each product, both hardware and software, are produced to the company's expected standard. This will also involve inspecting and testing products that also fall under warranty. They will also need to work alongside development team colleagues to discuss faults, tests and solutions. The successful candidate will be required to fault find down to component level in order to correct. They will also be required to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters. The successful candidate will also need to have an understanding of circuits, schematics and electronics in order for them to test and fault find effectively. It will also be beneficial if the successful candidate is familiar with C/C++ and Linux command.
