The Network Engineering Specialist undertakes engineering activities that contributes towards the delivery of client technical requirements, deploying optimal networking and connectivity solutions that enable clients and the enterprise to achieve their operational and business goals. You will
support the BT Onephone, Core SIP, VoIP and IP services.
- Undertakes routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components.
- Undertakes the implementation of new and enhanced network technology that aligns to customers' strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity.
- Maintains standards for global network infrastructure, including wireless, LAN and SD-WAN networks and connectivity.
- Manages the installation, testing, and setup of new network hardware both physical and virtual (firewalls, routers, switching, monitoring) hardware and software.
- Delivers the required documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation.
- Delivers support for clients with data protection and overarching cloud capabilities.
- Drives the implementation of core and cloud infrastructure security to manage risks and exposure.
- Provides support for problem escalations from the global network support organisation.
What we would like to see on your CV
- Good understanding of the Internet Engineering Task Force
- Call Control/Call Signalling Experience, including fundamental knowledge of
IMS & VoLTE
- Deep level of knowledge in computer networking
- Expert knowledge in SIP messaging including reading traces or problem
isolation.
- Good level of scripting principles, well versed in database administration,
experience working with Python or similar scripting languages.
- Comfortable working on a Linux environment / worked in a Linux server
environment and understands basic commands.
- Experience with VoIP as a Service
- Experience in virtualized data centres
- Experience in maintenance and configuration of SBC’s
- Cisco certifications
