Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support all activities in the Finance Department and wider business. Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure all aspects of the Month End/Year End procedure is completed accurately and timely.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities - specific responsibilities/Accountabilities/Outcomes:

Purchase Ledger:
  • Processing invoices on a daily basis, matching them to Purchase orders and querying any anomalies.
  • Liaising with suppliers/purchasing about any queries that may arise.
  • Sending invoices out for approval for weekly payment runs.
  • Full functionality from receipt of all invoices through to payment stage.
  • Maintaining shared email inbox ensuring all queries are answered on a timely basis.

Supplier Statement Reconciliations:
  • Obtain supplier statements for all our key suppliers.
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations for all statements monthly and investigating and resolving all reconciling items promptly.

Ad Hoc:
  • Collating authorised timesheets/hours and allocation to jobs/projects.
  • Assisting with Sales Ledger.
  • Covering other areas of finance during busy periods/annual leave.

To undertake any other duties which fall within the job holder’s capabilities aligned to normal duties that management may reasonably request and to continually seek ways to improve the way in which your function operates within the business.

Performance Measurement - Key Role Outcomes:
  • Positive feedback from internal/external staff regarding dealing with any issues efficiently.
  • Processing with the boundaries of month-end/year-end timescales.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Attributes/Knowledge/Experience:

Essential:
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Previous experience in an Finance environment
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles

Desirable:
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision
  • Knowledge of the CIS scheme

  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional punctuality and time management
