You will see many adverts for Fintechs though few have the growth plan and backing our client has; 5 household banking names have invested $25m last year and we are offering the chance for 2 top graduates with banking and/or consulting experience to join the ride early.
In essence, this is a data and anaytics proposition, with a solution that helps benchmark an FS firm's operational risk / risk and control framework against risk data that is aggregated against the whole sector. The premise here is bringing an intelligent, joined-up approach to risk management for major FS businesses. Where firms like Credit Suisse have been caught out, this firm offers a real solution.
We are looking for two types of candidate. The first will be someone 2-3 years into a client-facing role in a major bank or who has run complex projects and can show an ability to work with senior people. The second is either someone from a consulting firm that has worked across projects in banking or who has had variety moving around a bank on a graduate scheme and is looking to apply their knowledge. The HM is ex Oliver Wyman and is looking for smart, driven graduates that like to work at their own pace; there is the chance to grow with the role and no glass ceiling.
The first role is managing relationships with a major client, delivering, planning and executing a 'data led' project. This will require senior stakeholder engagement, good analytical skills (doesn't have to be an SME, other people at the firm are the 'data people') and hunger to succeed. For the right person, there will be a steep learning curve and opportunities to move up quickly. How might you further penetrate other banks across the sector? What material might you write to display across the market?
The second role is more analytical, working with data and looking to improve the product. This would suit someone who loves to get into the detail and who would enjoy building something. They will also need to be good with people and manage stakeholders from different banks.
We are looking for people who are passionate about banking and the sector. Perhaps you worked in equity sales for 2 years and are hungry to branch out, or maybe you've done 4 years in regulatory consulting and want to help build a company for the longer term...
This is the chance to join a small, highly entrepreneurial team at a firm that is making huge waves in the market. The HM has built a £10m business previously and knows what to do here. This offers an opportunity to work at a very senior level early in your career; we are looking for people who can show they have influenced and make a real difference on their projects or in their various roles.
