We are delighted to request applicants for three Band 7 CBT Therapist posts. These posts will be within our new ARMS (At Risk Mental State) service, working with individuals considered to be at risk of developing psychosis. The post is community based, covering Mid Essex including Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and Halstead. This service will be separate to, but under the umbrella of, and have close links with, the existing Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service in Mid Essex. There are a number of new posts in this new multi-disciplinary team aimed at offering predominantly, but not exclusively, psychosocial interventions with an evidence base of mental health prevention.

The successful candidate for these roles will be offering assessments and treatments related to CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) to those at risk of developing psychotic symptoms.   • Provide psychological assessments of service users, utilising information from health, social care, education and employment contacts, as well as direct contact with the service user and their carers.
  • To formulate and implement plans for psychological treatment and/ or management of the service user’s mental health problems based on appropriate conceptual frameworks and employing methods of efficacy.
  • To be responsible for delivering evidenced-based psychological interventions for individuals presenting with an At Risk Mental State (ARMS) and/or co-existing mental health difficulties.
  • To be responsible for planning, setting up and delivering evidence-based group psychological interventions.
  • To deliver consultation, supervision and training to other members of the MDT.
