Job Description

Our client, a leading survey and design consultancy, is looking to expand into the Railway Division and is keen to onboard an experienced Business Development Manager to take on this expansion.

Existing experience within rail is key, as you'll be responsible for all of the business development within this section - nurturing existing stakeholder relationships and identifying new opportunities in the railway/construction sectors.

This client is striving to develop their railway capabilities, to bolster an already thriving workload. By getting in early, you will have the opportunity to carve out the landscape of this position and develop strong roots.

The ideal candidate would be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow - must be prepared to travel across the UK

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic plans for growth
  • Collaborate with the wider team to deliver successful projects and ensure client satisfaction
  • Work closely with design engineering teams to understand client needs and develop innovative solutions
  • Liaise with regional and national campaigns and leaders to maximize work-winning and bid opportunities
  • Prepare comprehensive tenders, taking overall responsibility for all bid submissions with support from the bid team
  • Attend industry events and conferences to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies

Key Requirements:

  • Civil infrastructure design, including multi-disciplinary projects relating to environmental, geotechnical, structural or other specialist disciplines
  • Tendering exerpaince
  • Business development within the railway and construction industry
  • An understanding of design engineering in the railway and construction sectors
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with other teams
  • Ability to work independently
