Job Description
As the Data Delivery Manager, you’ll play a critical role ensuring the National Trust Data team operates effectively and can deliver for our most important priorities, including Climate Action and Welcoming Everyone to our special places.
The role has great reach across the Trust, touching all aspects of our work from conservation to marketing, estate management to commercial. You’ll be working with a wide range of people and teams, ensuring we are working in a planned effective way, and running our processes for gathering data requirements, planning and prioritising delivery.
What it's like to work here:The Data Team is part of the Strategy Management Unit - at the heart of the National Trust. Our mission is to equip and empower the organisation with data to make evidence-based decisions to improve our operations and enable us to deepen engagement with our audiences.
The Data team includes Business Intelligence, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and an Enterprise Data Management function, working closely with IT to deliver successful data projects and enhancements. It’s a fun and friendly team, and we balance hybrid working and opportunities to get out to our wonderful properties through volunteering and team development days with the wider team.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, and as this is where most of our key colleagues are based, we expect you to be there at least 2 days per week. However, there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust
What you'll be doing:This role is all about delivery. With almost 30 people in the team, there is increasing demand for the services provided. You’ll ensure that that demand is effectively managed, organised, and communicated, and that we are tackling the highest priority items that deliver the most for our strategy.
You’ll understand the importance of people in delivering quality data – line managing one direct report but lead matrixed delivery teams across many data delivery areas. You’ll help the organisation understand our plans through clear roadmaps and transparent backlogs.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Communication skills, with the ability to turn complex plans into simple messages
- Experience in project management methodologies including Agile. Building, managing & motivating matrix delivery teams
- Experience of delivering Data Projects & Products
- Management of complex stakeholder structures and stakeholder management up to Head of Department level
- Planning and organisational skills, converting ambiguity into clear action plans
- Experience of identifying and delivering change in large organisations
