Job Description

  • Extracting data from the database or other data sources, manipulating as needed for the required task
  • Undertaking ad hoc statistical investigations as requested by the line manager
  • Deriving module and course data and statistics, analysing and evaluating statistical trends and/or anomalies, advising stakeholders on appropriate intervention and/or relevant adjustments as necessary
  • Manipulating data as required for regulatory reporting, including for returns to HESA and other regulators
  • Providing high-quality management information to help ensure success in any Office for Students or other regulatory quality assessment
  • Conducting the role to a high level of accomplishment, with functional and technical knowledge and skills, in particular, experience with manipulating data in Excel
  • Paying attention to detail, being prepared to ask questions, and being inquisitive

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
  • Experienced in the use of pivot tables and Vlookup within Excel
  • Extracting information from databases to transfer into new database


Advantageous

  • Unit E experience (student grade database)
  • Use of HESA education database
