1. KEY DISPENSING RESPONSIBILITIES
To dispense medication as directed by the GPs and in line with Practice Protocol. To maintain stock control. To order drugs as required. To ensure the safe storage of medication and controlled drugs. To ensure the process of dispensing is timely and accurate. Maintain the on-call drug box stock supplies daily. Ensure proper procedure for the administration of controlled drugs and liaison with the police officer as necessary.
Responsibility for checking deliveries and making sure they match the order. Responsible for the collection and preparation of prescriptions for submission to PPA on a monthly basis. To collect monies from private patients & paying dispensary patients. Liaise with patients re exempt status and ensure all FP10’s are processed correctly. To deal with telephone enquiries and face to face in a professional and friendly manner.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Friendly, polite and calm disposition Keyboard skills
NVQ Level 2/3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Good communication skills
Understanding, acceptance and adherence to strict rules of confidentiality
Strong personal organisation, self-reliance and motivation but able to work for the team in a flexible manner
