English Teacher – Specialist Independent School– September 2023 Start

We are seeking a specialist and experienced English Teacher to join our small school, Teaching the English up to and including GCSE level on a part time basis.

At our school, we focus on providing specialized education for students who have social, emotional, mental health needs, SEN, attachment difficulties, and/or additional complex needs.

Our staff is dedicated to working with students who have a range of needs, including ASD/Aspergers, ADHD/ADD, anxiety, mental health and emotional difficulties, attachment difficulties/disorders, ODD, speech, language and communication difficulties, learning difficulties, adverse childhood experiences (ACE's), and dyslexia.

Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where students can build their self-esteem, gain confidence in their learning, positively re-engage in learning, and thrive.

Many of our students have not had successful mainstream school experiences, and we strive to understand and address the individual needs of each student. Our ultimate aim is to equip students with the social capital and powerful knowledge they need to succeed in their next phase of transition, whether it be an apprenticeship, college, or work.

Job Description – English Teacher

· Salary MPS1 £34,502 – MPS6 £44,756

· Located in the Southwark

Person Specification –English Teacher

· Must be a qualified English Teacher and have UK QTS

· Passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH

· Passionate ab out inspiring and engaging learners

· Has a record of high quality teaching and learning

· Has a positive outlook

· Committed to teamwork

· The ability to work independently and with initiative

· Ability to manage the dynamics of changing or mobile cohort of learners
