Job title: Estimator
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 + car/car allowance (£4,700) & package

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join a leading infrastructure contractor in Hertfordshire. The Estimator will be joining a professional and busy preconstruction team, pricing and tendering highways projects for local authorities across the area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience and come from a highways, utilities or other civil engineering background.

Some of the Estimators key duties will include:

• Assisting with valuations and bids for infrastructure projects
• Calculate labour and materials costs
• Get quotes from suppliers and contractors
• Monitor risk levels and adjust estimates accordingly
• Work with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure project delivery on time and within budget
• Collaborate with other departments such as design and procurement

Estimators considering this opportunity will need to have experience in the following areas:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating within the highways, utilities or infrastructure sectors
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Good communication and negotiation skills
