Equans is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team in Stratford on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 38.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, benefits package with the opportunity for overtime.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a renowned account we work with, TFL. You will undertake the planned and Reactive duties as directed by the Piped Services Mechanical Supervisor, providing technical support and assistance as required by both the supervisor and wider members of the team as may be necessary to ensure all activities both planned and reactive are completed in line with the contractual SLA.
This role and the responsibilities attributed to it have the ability to directly impact the delivery of services to the London Underground Rail infrastructure and as such has the potential to affect both Transport for London operations that could result in lost customer hours and cause operational downtime to EQUANS as a Business operating on their behalf as the principal contractor.
You are required to maintain professionalism in both a client facing and public facing environment, be approachable and able to act with integrity at all times ensuring the highest level of services are provided to our client and in turn the public using the operational railway.
You must be able to display and maintain EQUANS values in aspects of the works being conducted on behalf of EQUANS and TFL and ensure that communications are maintained daily to support the delivery of the contracted services and or any task assigned for completion.
You must be able to adhere to and abide by all SHEQ guidelines and applicable laws whilst undertaking works assigned across the estate and may be subjected to random drugs and alcohol testing and security checks in line with company policies.
Shift Pattern includes: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12 Hour shifts (6am-6pm)
What will you deliver?
Undertake planned maintenance activities and asset servicing to SFG20 standards ensuring all checks and tasks are completed satisfactorily.
Carry out repairs and rectification of faults and or minor works as required to return assets to service and or provide a clear understanding as to the requirements to do so via Mobile PDA.
Carry out installations, asset replacements under minor works as required.
Communicate works progress to the Piped Services Supervisor regularly and maintain contract to ensure all works are completed within the desired timeframe.
Ensure all works are completed on time in line with legal statutory requirements and company procedures ensuring key concerns are communicated in a timely fashion.
Maintain Health and Safety standards and practices at all times in line with both ENGIE and client HSQE policies and guidelines, reporting accidents, incidents and near misses via the dedicated procedure in line with EQUANS “No Life at Risk policy”.
Maintain all records associated to ensuring the services are delivered in line with contractual obligations, providing robust reporting via PDA to reduce down time in repairs.
Carry out allocated routine PPMs and any other reactive works or tasks as directed.
Provide the necessary technical support and assistance to supervisory staff and other team members, the client and site staff to maintain rapport and communications to ensure swift resolution of al operational concerns attributed to activities being conducted.
To assist and support the operational engineering function while also conducting your operational maintenance duties, including assisting the management team in customer focused duties and inspections, Ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements for all areas of responsibility.
Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with the Health and Safety at work act 1974 maintaining a Duty of care to all who may be affected by the works being carried out and to EQUANS as the Employer.
Maintain site files to ensure all policies, Risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments are available to view, ensuring all site briefing records, plant and equipment records are maintained and available on request during planned general inspections, managers site safety visits and client HSQE inspections.

Who are we looking for?
JIB-PMES approved.
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 (Minimum)
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3: (preferred)
GAS Safe (Domestic & Commercial required)
Hot water systems and safety training (Part G3 Building Regulations)
Water regs/ L8
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a similar.
London underground experience is desirable.
Rail experience is advantageous.
As a person, you are results-driven, you are experienced and highly professional, with a strong technical background.
Communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively, by email, verbally, on the phone.
Work Ethic, be at work on time, meet targets and deadlines and work to the best of one’s ability.
Flexibility, if required need to react quickly to changing business conditions and take out of hour emergency calls and emails if required.
