Join us as Head of Bank of APIs

  • This is your chance to join our Data & Analytics team as the Head of Bank of APIs, helping to shape one of the most disrupted and disrupting areas of financial services
  • We’re looking for a strategic thinker to drive the development and delivery of innovative new API products and services
  • You’ll lead the bank’s response to Open Banking, developing the programme’s objectives, scope, impact, and delivery framework
  • This is an opportunity to challenge conventional ways of thinking and to build strong external relationships across the industry

What you'll do

We want our bank to be part of an open and collaborative environment, and you’ll be leading the way in implementing new customer propositions that will allow us to become a more connected bank. With expert leadership, you’ll be making sure that programme and technology resources help to meet the programme’s milestones, while making sure that benefits are delivered to budget, time, and quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with franchises to identify, prioritise and deliver use cases which respond to the threats and opportunities that Open Banking presents
  • Owning the development and management of the API roadmap, detailing which APIs need to be delivered and when, to meet the regulatory and strategic demand
  • Building strong relationships between internal and external stakeholders involved in the programme
  • Leading and delivering the bank’s regulatory response to the Competition & Markets Authority’s (CMA) Open Banking standards

The skills you'll need

You’ll be a highly analytical thinker, with the ability to exercise strong judgement in the development and implementation of strategic plans. You’ll have experience of successfully leading and delivering large scale, customer centric, transformational change. We’ll also expect you to have excellent people and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • A background of operations, technology and change management in a domestic and international banking environment
  • An understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative developments affecting banking and the marketplace
  • Knowledge and experience of engineering to build new customer propositions
  • The ability to influence and persuade to high levels of seniority
  • A background of operational and financial planning
