The Role
We now have a fantastic opportunity to join us as Head of Broking – Global Construction.
In this role, you will:
- Assure that the Broking Platform is fully and properly adopted in all regions
- Lead the Business Line Broking specialists within the global business line to deliver a differentiated client experience from the broking solution.
- Set the broking strategy for the Business Line, agree segmentation broking solution between large and complex risks and mid-market risks
- Lead all trading with insurers for the Business Line
- Co-ordinate delivery of broking solutions to clients across the Line of Business
- Set facilities and panels strategy for the Global Business Line
- Execute Carrier Management strategy across Global Business Line
Major Accountabilities
- Assure that the Broking Platform is fully and properly adopted in all regions
- Implement the Global Business Line broking strategy coordinating with global and geography broking leaders
- Line management of brokers within the Global Business Line, set objectives and remuneration
- Ensure single risk trading with carriers delivers best outcomes for clients
- Ensure broking best practice is applied consistently across the Global Line of Business
- Design broking segmentation on strategy for the Global Line of Business
- Design facilities and panels strategy in Global Line of Business, in collaboration with Geography Broking Leaders and Geography Facilities Team
- Ensure Market Derived Income adherence, training and timely MDIC submissions for the Global Line of Business
Financial KPIs
- Help deliver Global Business Line financial performance
- Manage and drive market derived income for the Line of Business, with Global Head of Broking and geographic broking lead and with Group Legal and Compliance as appropriate.
- Work in the best interest of the client, whilst managing all key stakeholder performance from placed business
This is a Certification Regime role under the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) Senior Manager and Certification Regime and will be subject to the FCA’s Conduct Rules.
The Requirements
- Educated to a degree, or MBA level (or country equivalent)
- Professional qualifications such as ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience
- Extensive knowledge of the insurance market and ability to understand potential conflicts of interest in CRB activity
- Ability to demonstrate evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the broking market community, resulting in an understanding of client and technical issues and capability to solve
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing people
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment
- Strong facilitation skills – able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the Company
- High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management
- Strong skills in problem solving, planning and budgeting
