As we continue to expand, we have an opportunity for experienced RTA Claims Advisors/ Paralegals to join our Legal Services Unit.

As part of the Claims Technical & Central Services team, you will be responsible for managing litigated claims that have been brought against AXA/and or its policyholders.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. The Legal Services Unit are based out of our Gloucester office so there will be a need to travel for collaboration dependent on business needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handling a portfolio of defended litigated claims.
  • Negotiating claims whilst keeping indemnity spend and lifecycles to a minimum.
  • Coordinating/preparing statements and briefing counsel.
  • Managing customer expectation throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
  • Making an appropriate contribution to department e.g. knowledge sharing, training, personal development etc.
  • Complying with the required standards for internal procedures.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Law degree and/or litigation or claims experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Court’s procedures, with good working knowledge of the Road Traffic Act.
  • Good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and knowledge of Injury, Hire/Credit Hire.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of independence, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own expertise/authority.
  • Team oriented with an experience of and a willingness to mentor, coach and supervise less experienced members of teams.
  • Strong communicator with an ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisation skills to ensure a pragmatic and methodical approach to handling a variety of claims simultaneously, through an IT case management system.
  • Ability to handle a complex and constantly changing workload, work under pressure whilst maintaining the required quality.
  • Enthusiasm and integrity, with strong and confident decision-making skills.
  • Courage to challenge the norm and share alternative solutions.
